Telegence Corporation provides DS2000 systems to Telecom Malaysia

Working closely with Telecom Malaysia, Telegence developed custom application extensions to the standard DS2000 collection suite that allows the DS2000 to replace other vendor equipment that has been obsoleted or discontinued.

Telecom Malaysia had a requirement that discontinued data collection equipment be replaced in such a manner that the existing OSS equipment does not require any changes to implement the new Telegence DS2000 MTE or X.25 systems. Telegence was successful in implementing changes to the DS2000 suite that allowed direct replacement of old equipment. These changes included physical cabling, electrical interfaces, data formats and FTP connections to upstream OSS equipment.

The new DS2000 equipment interfaced via Magnetic Tape Emulation (MTE) and X.25 protocols on the collection side and FTP/TCP/IP on the upstream data side. The DS2000 solution is unique in the industry by providing both data collection via the MTE interface and also Switch Backup by storing system backup files and restoring the backup files to the switch when needed.
